These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”, “your”) and ShadesofRomeo Ltd, a company duly incorporated and registered in the United Kingdom, with its registered office at [address] (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”). The App is legally represented by Marian Florea.
By downloading, registering, or using Droll Pics – Sell Your Selfies (“App”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any other applicable guidelines. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
1. Introduction & Agreement
1.1. The App, Droll Pics, is a mobile and web-based platform that allows users to upload, share, and monetize photos through a unique 3-photo storytelling format.
1.2. These Terms govern your use of Droll Pics, including but not limited to account registration, uploading content, credit-based monetization, withdrawals, and all community interactions.
1.3. You agree that by creating an account, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with ShadesofRomeo Ltd.
1.4. The Company reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes via in-app notifications or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
- “App” means Droll Pics – Sell Your Selfies, including all services, websites, and features provided by ShadesofRomeo Ltd.
- “Credits” refers to the virtual currency used within the App. One credit is earned when a third photo in a story is unlocked. Credits may be converted into real money once the minimum withdrawal threshold is reached.
- “Story” means a sequence of three photos: the Beginning, the Content, and the End. The first two are free to view; the final photo requires payment of 1 credit.
- “User Content” or “Content” refers to any photos, images, text, captions, comments, or materials uploaded by a user.
- “Before & After Format” means the free feature where users may upload two photos side by side without monetization.
- **“Pro” or “Paid Features” refer to monetized or credit-based features, such as unlocking the third photo.
- “Company” refers to ShadesofRomeo Ltd, the legal owner of the App.
- “User” means any person accessing, browsing, or registering on the App.
3. Eligibility & Age Restriction (18+)
3.1. You must be 18 years or older to create an account or use Droll Pics. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract.
3.2. We do not knowingly allow individuals under the age of 18 to register or upload content. If we discover that an account has been created by someone under 18, we will suspend and remove the account immediately.
3.3. The App may include humorous, satirical, or suggestive content, which makes it unsuitable for minors. Users under 18 are strictly prohibited from accessing, uploading, or participating in the platform.
4. The Meaning of “Droll” & Purpose of the App
4.1. The name “Droll” originates from an archaic English word meaning “humorous, whimsical, or amusing in an odd way.”
4.2. The App is designed primarily for fun, humor, and creativity. It enables users to tell mini-stories through photos, provoke laughter, spark curiosity, and entertain others.
4.3. While Droll Pics encourages creativity and humor, it also provides users with an opportunity to earn money through storytelling. Every time a user’s third photo is unlocked, they receive credits that can later be withdrawn as cash, subject to our payout policies.
4.4. The dual purpose of the App is to serve as:
- A social platform for sharing comic, satirical, or creative photo stories.
- A monetization platform where creators are rewarded for generating curiosity and engagement.
5. Account Creation & Responsibilities
5.1. To use Droll Pics, you must register for an account by providing accurate, complete, and truthful information, including your email address, password, date of birth, and other requested details.
5.2. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details. You agree not to share your password or allow others to use your account.
5.3. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it.
5.4. Users may not impersonate another person, use false identities, or misrepresent affiliation with any entity.
5.5. Multiple Accounts Policy: Each user may only create one account. Creating or attempting to create multiple accounts is prohibited. If multiple accounts are detected, all accounts may be suspended or terminated, and monetization privileges (including withdrawals) may be revoked.
5.6. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, including copyright laws, digital services regulations, and content restrictions, when using the App.
6. Multiple Accounts Policy
6.1. Each user is allowed to create and maintain only one account on Droll Pics. Multiple accounts for the same individual are strictly prohibited.
6.2. If we detect duplicate, fraudulent, or linked accounts, we reserve the right to:
- Suspend or permanently terminate all related accounts.
- Withhold or revoke any credits or earnings accumulated across such accounts.
- Deny withdrawal requests associated with duplicate accounts.
6.3. Users who attempt to bypass this rule (for example, by using different email addresses, VPNs, or false identities) may face permanent removal from the App.
7. User Content & Intellectual Property
7.1. You retain full ownership of the content you upload (photos, captions, text, etc.). However, by posting on the App, you grant ShadesofRomeo Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:
- Display, reproduce, distribute, and host your content.
- Use it in connection with operating and promoting the App.
- Moderate, remove, or restrict content where necessary.
7.2. You confirm that you hold all necessary rights (copyrights, image rights, permissions) for the content you upload.
7.3. Third-party photos: You may upload photos that are not your own only if you have legal rights or permission to use them. However, if you monetize content that is proven not to belong to you, you may lose the right to withdraw credits or earnings.
7.4. You acknowledge that any unauthorized use of third-party content (copyrighted photos, images taken without consent, or content violating rights of publicity) may result in removal, suspension, and loss of monetization privileges.
7.5. Users grant us the right to use de-identified, aggregated data (such as analytics or trends) for improving the App, marketing, or research.
8. Copyright, Third-Party Images & Monetization Limitations
8.1. Copyright compliance: Users are responsible for ensuring their content does not infringe on intellectual property rights. ShadesofRomeo Ltd complies with the EU Copyright Directive and the Digital Services Act (DSA), which requires swift removal of infringing content upon notice.
8.2. If your content is flagged for copyright infringement:
- It may be removed without prior notice.
- Repeated violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
- Credits or earnings from such content may be forfeited.
8.3. Use of third-party photos: If you upload content that is not your own (e.g., stock photos, memes, or images sourced online) without proper authorization, you are not entitled to withdraw credits earned from that content.
8.4. We provide a Notice & Takedown process in compliance with EU and UK law. If you believe your copyrighted material has been used unlawfully, please contact us at [legal@drollpics.com] with evidence, and we will act promptly.
9. Prohibited Content & Community Rules
9.1. Droll Pics is designed to be humorous, creative, and engaging. However, the following types of content are strictly prohibited:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), exploitation, or any sexualized content involving minors.
- Explicit pornography or nudity beyond what is permitted by App Store/Google Play policies.
- Violent, hateful, harassing, or abusive content.
- Discriminatory or extremist content based on race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
- Content that promotes illegal activity, drugs, or weapons.
- Spam, scams, misleading information, or malicious links.
- Content violating third-party intellectual property rights.
9.2. Any content falling under the above categories will be removed immediately. Users posting such content risk suspension or permanent ban.
9.3. Humor & satire: Since “droll” refers to humor, playful or comic content is encouraged. However, humor must not cross into harassment, hate speech, or illegal activity.
9.4. Age-sensitive content: Content that is suggestive, comedic, or satirical is allowed, but explicit adult content beyond platform rules is not.
9.5. Users must respect community standards and engage respectfully with other members.
10. Moderation & Automatic Removal of Content
10.1. We employ both automated tools and human moderators to ensure compliance with our policies.
10.2. Immediate removal: Any content that violates these Terms or applicable laws may be deleted without notice.
10.3. User reporting: Users may report content they believe is illegal, harmful, or against our policies. All reports are reviewed, and action is taken promptly in line with the Digital Services Act (DSA) requirements.
10.4. Transparency obligations: Under the DSA, we commit to being transparent about moderation actions, including providing notice when your content is removed and giving you the right to appeal.
10.5. Repeat offenders: Users who repeatedly violate content rules may face escalating consequences, including suspension, permanent ban, and forfeiture of credits or earnings.
10.6. While we strive to moderate effectively, we are not responsible for user-generated content. Users upload at their own risk and are accountable for their material.
11. Credits, Monetization & Withdrawals
11.1. Credits System
Droll Pics uses a credit-based system to reward creators. One credit is earned each time another user unlocks the third photo of a 3-photo story.
11.2. Earning Credits
- Credits are added to your in-app wallet when your content is unlocked.
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
- Credits hold no monetary value until converted through our withdrawal process.
11.3. Conversion Rates
The value of credits depends on the amount withdrawn, with the following tiers:
- 1,000–3,000 credits = £0.030 per credit
- 3,001–5,000 credits = £0.035 per credit
- 5,001+ credits = £0.040 per credit
11.4. Minimum Threshold
Withdrawals can only be requested once a user has accumulated at least 1,000 credits.
11.5. Withdrawal Requests
- Withdrawals must be requested via the App’s payment system.
- Approved withdrawal methods include bank transfer, PayPal, or other options made available.
- Transaction fees may apply and are borne by the user.
11.6. Forfeiture of Credits
- Credits earned from content that infringes copyrights, violates rules, or originates from duplicate accounts will be forfeited.
- Suspended or banned users lose access to accumulated credits.
11.7. Fraud Prevention
We reserve the right to review and withhold payments where fraudulent activity, content manipulation, or abuse of the system is suspected.
12. Before & After (Free Version) vs. Pro (Paid Version)
12.1. Free Version
The App includes a free “Before & After” feature where users can post two photos side by side to show transformations or humorous contrasts. This feature is always free and cannot be monetized.
12.2. Pro / Paid Features
- Pro features include the 3-photo storytelling model where the third photo is locked and earns 1 credit per unlock.
- Only original or permitted content may be monetized. Content in violation of copyright or other rules cannot generate valid withdrawals.
12.3. Eligibility for Monetization
Users must:
- Be 18+ years old.
- Have a verified account.
- Respect all content and copyright rules.
- Not operate multiple accounts.
12.4. Changes to Features
We may update, modify, or remove free and Pro features at our discretion to comply with platform rules (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play) or to improve the App.
13. European Union Compliance (GDPR & DSA)
13.1. GDPR Compliance
For users within the European Union, Droll Pics complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means:
- You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- You may request a copy of your data (data portability).
- You can withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
- Data collected is limited to what is necessary for account operation and monetization.
13.2. Data Storage
Personal data is stored securely and processed only for legitimate purposes, such as account verification, payments, and compliance with legal obligations.
13.3. DSA Compliance
Under the Digital Services Act (DSA):
- Illegal or harmful content will be removed without undue delay.
- Users will be notified if their content is removed and may appeal decisions.
- A transparent reporting system is provided for users to flag content.
- We provide yearly transparency reports on moderation activities as required by EU law.
13.4. Children’s Data
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Accounts identified as belonging to minors will be terminated, and related data will be deleted.
14. Payments, Taxes & Currency Conversion
14.1. Payments to Users
Payments are made in the local currency chosen by the Company (GBP, EUR, USD, or others depending on region).
14.2. Transaction Fees
Any transaction or banking fees are the responsibility of the user.
14.3. Taxes
- Users are responsible for declaring and paying any taxes (income tax, VAT, etc.) applicable in their jurisdiction.
- ShadesofRomeo Ltd does not withhold taxes unless required by law.
14.4. Currency Conversion
Conversion rates may fluctuate. The Company is not responsible for differences in exchange rates applied by banks or payment processors.
14.5. Refund Policy
Credits purchased are generally non-refundable, except as required by local law (e.g., EU 14-day digital purchase refund rights where applicable).
15. Liability Limitations & Disclaimers
15.1. “As Is” Service
The App and services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
15.2. No Liability for User Content
We are not responsible for user-generated content, its legality, accuracy, or compliance. Users upload at their own risk.
15.3. Limitation of Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShadesofRomeo Ltd is not liable for:
- Lost profits or revenues.
- Data loss.
- Business interruptions.
- Any indirect or consequential damages.
15.4. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShadesofRomeo Ltd, Marian Florea, its directors, officers, and employees against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, including copyright breaches or illegal content.
15.5. Third-Party Services
We are not responsible for third-party services (e.g., payment providers, hosting providers). Their terms apply separately.
16. Suspension & Termination of Accounts
16.1. Right to Suspend or Terminate
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion if:
- You violate these Terms & Conditions.
- You upload prohibited or illegal content.
- You operate multiple accounts.
- Fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected.
- You engage in harassment, abuse, or behavior harmful to the community.
16.2. Consequences of Termination
- Access to your account and content will be removed.
- Accumulated credits may be forfeited, especially if linked to violations.
- Withdrawal requests may be denied if associated with fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
16.3. Appeals
If your account is suspended or terminated, you will be notified. You may appeal the decision by contacting our support team. Appeals must be submitted within 14 days of notification.
16.4. User Termination
You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion:
- Your content may be permanently removed.
- Some data may be retained for legal, compliance, or fraud-prevention purposes.
17. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
17.1. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the United Kingdom.
17.2. EU Consumer Rights
If you are located in the European Union, you may also benefit from additional rights under local consumer protection laws.
17.3. Dispute Resolution
- In case of disputes, you agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting us first.
- If no resolution is reached within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to the competent courts of the United Kingdom, unless otherwise required by EU consumer law.
17.4. Arbitration Clause (Optional)
For certain users outside the EU, disputes may be resolved via binding arbitration instead of court proceedings, where applicable.
17.5. Language
These Terms are written in English. In case of translation into other languages, the English version shall prevail.

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
18.2. Notification of Changes

- The “Last Updated” date will always be visible at the top of this page.
18.3. Acceptance of Changes
By continuing to use the App after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you must discontinue using the App.
